On a Mission for the "Life Ball"

The “Life Ball” in Vienna is Europe’s largest charity event for the benefit of people infected with HIV or suffering from AIDS. This year’s event was staged under the motto “Recognize the danger” – and included a host of entertaining dance, show and music acts, right up to a performance by the Bratislava Symphony Orchestra. DB Schenker made a major contribution towards ensuring that the ball, which was held in the City Hall of the Austrian capital, and the enormous stage show on the City Hall Square went off without a hitch. The logistics partner of “Life Ball” deployed 20 trucks to transport scenery, stage elements, costumes, props and other equipment to the site – and to dismantle everything overnight after the close of the event.

“My team and I are incredibly grateful for the long years of cooperation with DB Schenker,” said Gery Keszler, the founder and organizer of the annual event, which was first celebrated in 1993 and only took a break in 2016. “It is not only that the entire company and its employees share the philosophy of the Life Ball and its charitable principles,” said Keszler. “With DB Schenker, we have a reliable and flexible logistics partner by our side.” This is the ninth year that the logistics provider has supported the “Life Ball” – and the cooperation is set to continue in the future. Just prior to this year’s event, the partnership was extended by a further three years.
