DB Schenker employees around the world are on call for their customers
This figure shows that the team of logistics experts has grown larger and more effective – by more than 1,500 members of staff compared to the previous key date, December 31, 2014. The list of achievements racked up by the employees during 2015 at some 2,000 locations in almost 130 countries is impressive: ranked No. 1 in European land transport, in third place respectively for global ocean and airfreight and fifth in terms of global contract logistics. These accomplishments speak for themselves.
There has also been a positive development in the sales performance generated by the team last year. It currently stands at 15.45 billion euros (17.62 billion US dollars) – an increase of 3.4 percent over 2014. Primarily fuelled by currency effects, the EBIT rose by 19 percent. As a result, DB Schenker contributed almost 400 million euros (395m euros = 450m US dollars) to the operating profit of Deutsche Bahn AG.
The highest growth rates were posted by the 20,740 contract logistics specialists (an increase of around 8.7 percent). Here, sales shot up by more than 17 percent to 2.38 billion euros (2.71bn US dollars) and the EBIT rose by more than 34 percent to 106 million euros (121m US dollars).
